But that's just my point! You she obeys! She obeys you! There's obeying going on right under my nose!

I would love a massage girl, but they'd never do it. Private industry, on the other hand... Speaking of which, I spoke to an old co-worker yesterday (he was inviting me to the reception celebrating the opening of their new office) and he told me to let him know first if I don't get this job.

Which was nice.

What was also nice was walking from my car to the office today, a lovely woman stopped me to tell me she thought I looked really totally put together and awesome. Total stranger! I pointed out that I hadn't ironed my slacks, but she was so insistent, it was kind of funny.

For the record, I was wearing a burgundy car-coat and my black cashmere pashmina wrapped around my neck, trouser jeans, and a pair of brown booties. I suspect it's really the hair that caught her attention--usually when I get comments from strangers, it's because of my hair.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Supernatural day

Seriously, in the shower this morning, I thought "It's Arrow day!" And when I shamefacedly confessed that to Tim, he said, "I thought the same thing!"

When we watch Arrow, we get the commercials for SPN, and (since I've never watched it), the commercials lead me to think, depending on the episode, that it is the wackiest show EVAR, or the freakiest show EVAR. I assume it's both.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Slept like crap. I feel like if I closed my eyes for a minute, I'd be napping sitting straight up.

I did get some lotion with vitamin E for my knee and have been doing light massage (it is still real tender). Thanks for the suggestions. It feels better already...not normal yet, but not as bad as it had been. I still feel pathetic at all this pain from basically a skinned knee.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

THE MASSAGE GIRL IS HERE. I mean, yes, it's just 15-minute shoulder massages, but I WILL TAKE ONE THANK YOU.

So jealous! We used to have those but they were discontinued several years back during one of our cutback phases. I guess if it was a choice between monthly massages and weekly bagels I'm glad we kept the bagels, but still.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

it's because of my hair.

Because it's beautiful and striking. But I think you usually dress very well too.

Oh honey, the mentally unwell people have been in the fanbase since Game Changers was Stucky fanfiction on the internet. The calls have been coming from inside the house the whole time!

I finished a big deadline a day early, found out the library book I'd had for an extra month or so had never been scanned in the first place so no fine, and have a coupon for a free pizza to eat while watching SPN tonight. Life is good!

Thanks, Hec! I don't know if I'm particularly fashionable, but I think I've found something that works for me. If only (as I told that woman this morning) I could have figured this out when I was 25!

SO CUTE.

Because books.

I love it when that happens, Consuela. You sound stylish today!

the wackiest show EVAR, or the freakiest show EVAR. I assume it's both

Also the most heart-breaking. And the hottest. Should I go on?

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I want a quokka!

There is a puppy at work today, and I LOVE her! I just want to eat her up!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

And she's particularly beautiful

Actually, this bit I disagree with. I think she's fairly pretty and extremely glamorous and stylish, but not particularly beautiful.

Fetish modelling, carefully chosen porn, and Marilyn Manson sound like differentiators (not saying she wasn't in love with Marilyn, just that it didn't hurt her but probably helped, and it might actually have worked against some other women).

the commercials lead me to think, depending on the episode, that it is the wackiest show EVAR, or the freakiest show EVAR. I assume it's both

Often in the same episode, yes. That is a lot of why it is such a fun obsession.

So...developer is out, business is hounding me for things related to what she was doing yesterday, and she not only didn't update me when I asked her to, she also didn't add me to the support platform so I could read up on what she did without asking her. My manager really doesn't want to hear that incompetent is hampering my ability to support the business, but if she is actually of use then she can also have a negative impact on support.

Like, say, now. I'm not the only person she was avoiding yesterday, but I am the person they will all look to for the answers she didn't supply.

What are trouser jeans?

I think I've determined I can't have a fade. Either it won't work at the lengths that model had hers at, which is as long as I'll go, or it will require combing, and I'm not going to comb my hair. Nothing is that important right now.
