Illyria: We cling to what is gone. Is there anything in this life but grief? Wesley: There's love. There's hope...for some. There's hope that you'll find something worthy...that your life will lead you to some joy...that after everything...you can still be surprised. Illyria: Is that enough? Is that enough to live on?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Glad to!

Right? It would be a treat to host Sue, Scrappy or Maria. Please get stranded in my town!

hip deep in pie

That...actually sounds kind of awesome, in the winter.

Um, it's February Jesse. It is winter. I don't think Dublin has winter in the way I think of it though.

The irony is thanks to this ebola virus, I have been walking around in a feverish sweat for the last two days. I don't need a sauna.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I'm a little late but I stopped and started C25K a few times. Then, one time, it clicked. I think that plan is great. So my advice is to take it easy. Repeat weeks if you don't feel ready to advance. if it takes longer than 8 weeks, who cares.

Whoa. State refund deposited today. That was fast, just barely over a week.

And the IRS tells me to expect the fed deposit to be made tomorrow. 9 days. Fascinating.

Oh honey, the mentally unwell people have been in the fanbase since Game Changers was Stucky fanfiction on the internet. The calls have been coming from inside the house the whole time!

Just did my taxes today, coincidentally. I may actually get to take a vacation this year after all.

Our wings are not tired.

I did mine on Saturday. Hoping very much that my work bonus will take care of what I owe (self-employment taxes are $$ and I skipped my last "estimated quarterly" payment).

Punishingly Intricate

Our tax stuff is with our accountant now and I live in fear until we hear from him. So complicated this year!

sarameg - Feb 19, 2013 6:16:48 pm PST #11984 of 30001

I can't justify him anymore. First year, yeah. But now TurboTax can handle it. But I'm a single-stater, uncomplicated homeowner.

Devi has the steaming routine down. I carried her up to the bath, set her down to turn on the water and she went to jump up on the toilet seat, except it wasn't down with a sheet of cardboard on it (there to make it more appealing, since it is a faux box.) She was confused. I remedied.

I can see the steaming in my increased gas bill this month (gas hot water heater.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

How is this person still working for your company?

Because she only acts like that, I guess, in front of me. But I did send an email to our manager telling her that the developer needed to hear it from her before she'd do it--and she's not the first person I've reached out to in order to give her instructions, since coming from the only subject matter expert in the enterprise doesn't count. Because I'm not a developer.

If she was any good, that might sting, but when I was told she was incompetent (I wish I felt they knew she was truculent too), the explanation was that she'd moved into development from being an admin. So if she wants to get into casting aspersions on backgrounds, homeslice needs to have a look around. Her colleagues are mocking hers, as she's mocking mine.

I will have to commit myself to doing taxes this week. The pile of paperwork is ready, as well as my medical bills from 2012.
