Mal: Yeah, well, just be careful. We cheated Badger out of good money to buy that frippery, and you're supposed to make me look respectable. Kaylee: Yes, sir, Captain Tightpants.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OMFG, I need one thing from one person, and it's not clear where he is! He might be in the meeting my boss was just headed to, so I gave her a message for if she sees him. Otherwise, I'm just sitting here waiting for the phone to ring. I tried not being here, but that didn't work either. Hoping posting works!

Ah ha ha ha! His assistant called literally as I was hitting "Post message."

Trust my rage

My onerous task today is the court mandated parenting class I am currently sitting through. There are many reasons I shouldn't be here (went already, Sammy is young, there's no real conflict wrt custody) but I get that everyone has to go. But the class is miserable. All these videos of crying kids talking about their parents fighting. I'm doing my best to tune it out since it totally depressed me the last time.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Non-onerous task! Meeting a 250 lb dog at the park. Unless it was a pony. It might have been a pony.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

2:35 and our offices are more than half empty. Ridiculous.

Woe is me. My onerous task is to figure out how to spend the last 24 hours in Cairns.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I have also sorted out my Open Enrollment! And assorted other overdue tasks. And started making soup, which isn't really onerous except that it makes me hungry all day to smell it cooking.

Oh, crap, missed a bill, not done with that task yet...

What kind of dog weighs 250 pounds?!?

I am just trying to get regular work done, as I have been all week. Hoping to finish up today with some training stuff and prep for next week's travel, and if my boss gets back to me, revising a report. But mostly looking forward to the weekend.

I think most of my overdue/onerous tasks at the moment are not going to be tackled today--I want to refi my house, and hire someone to garden/landscape/bomb and destroy my yard. But am not even sure where to start on either of those (and on the latter, not sure how much I'm willing to spend)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Two things are pissing me off right now: Tumblr technical support telling me to uninstall a number of add-ons I don't have installed, in a really pedantic and condescending way, and refusing to believe me when I said they weren't installed until I showed them the screens that said "nothing installed" and now their suggestion for why their site is giving me contradictory errors is to change browsers. "Here are free links for Chrome and Firefox". Well, thanks for saving me from the Opera moneypit! They're also entirely ignoring me on another issue, and I just want them to respond to me to say they won't fix it, so I know what the silence means.

And also people on IO9 are telling me that Hollywood doesn't have "minority" casting issues--either the casting is representative of reality (oh, right, women, that does suck, maybe), or my favourite "sometimes people who are better at the job or perceived by the audience to be better at the job are going to get it." Him I told we were done talking.

I want a pony.

Well, I was going to make an eye appointment, but now I'm looking for a new optometrist.
