Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I haven't given up anything for Lent. This conversation makes me feel like a BLOB, esp since today is DH's birthday, so we went to Pacos for Mexican food and margaritas and wee mini cupcakes for dessert. I am way too full now, WAY too full. Oof. I think I'm going to waddle off to bed.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My sleep doctor suggested I don't watch TV or use the computer after 6PM.

I have a really hard time explaining to her I am serious about needing to get more sleep, but no, not every suggestion makes sense. She's clearly less insane than the doctor that told me to dance--in fact, she's not insane at all. Just...even if you wanted to set aside any socialisation I do with the computer past 6 I MAY NOT HAVE LEFT WORK YET. Also, who doesn't watch TV?

It's weird what she pushes back on, and was even about to ask if I was near retirement, and seriously? Retire is a medical recommendation? But I told her it was both hobby and social life as well as work, and I had cut down on late night well-lit shenanigans, but another question was "well, how well lit is it?" Uh, well lit enough that I don't have to strain my eyes and give myself a headache? Again, a weird thing to compromise on.

I'll be doing a night oxygenation study, which I hope goes better than last time when they scheduled it without telling me, and called me at work to tell me they were at my apartment. Okay, great for you! There are decent restaurants in the area, maybe you could catch a movie, but I sure didn't tell you to show up today, so I don't have many actual feelings about where you are other than surprise.

I would say who sets up for one of those things while I'm still at work, but seems more like sleep people keep banker's hours. And are Luddites. Every single last one of them.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, I would like to improve my sleep quality, but there's pretty much no fucking way I'm going to eliminate all media after 6.

Well, plus that's a rather generic time point. I mean, some people go to sleep at 9pm and others at 1am. Some get up to work out at 5am, others roll into work around 10. Silly.

I had such a better time at dancing this week, thank god. Still irked the ex was there last week, but this week there was lots of dancing with excellent dancers, and tomorrow I have plans for dim sum and more dancing!

What's wrong with Dan Savage? I know nothing about him but santorum, and I keep seeing strong negative reactions to him on Tumblr.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

What's wrong with Dan Savage? I know nothing about him but santorum, and I keep seeing strong negative reactions to him on Tumblr.

I don't know what's happened recently, but in the past, he's said a lot of stuff that prompted a whole lot of "check your privilege" responses.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Well, Savage did say that autism was a nonsense diagnosis developed for parents trying to bilk the government. He said they needed to learn real discipline and instead of sending heir kids to time out they should hit their kids instead. [link]

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I thought it was Michael Savage and the autism thing (and ADHD thing), not Dan Savage. Dan Savage's area, I thought was more sex advice less ed policy?

hip deep in pie

Calli, that article is about Michael Savage, not Dan Savage.
