I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That's so sweet, Theo! I'm sorry it's your last day.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

THINGS NOT TO TELL YOUR MOTHER

This should just be standard mailing list functionality. In fact, an add on to a client that checks your to and cc lines every time and asks "Are you sure you want to tell your mother this??" might be useful.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Some mail systems make access to mail group addresses very locked down -- a reply all will bounce back at you if you try. At HMCo, a department- or company-wide email had to be forwarded to the IT mail team to be sent out.

THINGS NOT TO TELL YOUR MOTHER

There's a sub-category of Things You Told Your Mother and She Forgot, which is even more fraught. The other night Dad called me and put her on the phone so she could yell at me for selling their condo without telling her about it. Fun times!

IONallaboutme, I just learned that the period of performance for my contract is up at the end of this month, although there's enough money to keep it going for another six or eight weeks. But between that and the looming sequestration/furloughs/hiring freeze, even if they do want to hire me, they may not be able to. Joy.

Good lord, Consuela. I am aghast.

First line of defence failed here. Yikes. But more yikes about the lovely morass of rules regs and requirements that make doing your job harder than not.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I don't know what to make of the paintings, but this is what struck me:

Correspondence obtained by the hacker indicates that at least six separate e-mail accounts have been compromised, including the AOL account of Dorothy Bush Koch, daughter of George H.W. Bush and sister of George W. Bush.

Koch? As in *that* Koch family? How did I not know this?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Consuela,

I read your post and literally put my head in my hands right afterward.
