Overwhelming? How much more than whelming would that be exactly?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I dunno, when I was listening to the press conference, the whole thing felt like: Reporter asks absurdly sensationalist question. Speaker says something like "I have not heard that" or "I have no information on that" or my favorite "It's an unfolding situation. They aren't updating me." Reporter repeats sensational claim. And on and on until: Reporter: "So we don't know for sure, but there IS a possibility that "

That's what I got from the press conference too. I am shocked she stayed there as long as she did. It was just random sensationalist questions at the end.

They have said that they knew a suspect was in the cabin, they took out every window, launched the smokey canisters (I want to say tear gas or smoke bombs but I'm not sure, so something smokey) and then methodically took out the walls one by one. Then single shot, big fire and it burning a long time with no going in because it wasn't safe with an armed suspect. Then Fire Dept was given the situation.

Which, I don't see how that situation was ever meant to lead to an arrest. From the first I saw of this about four hours ago, it was clearly going to end with death. The sheriff who died was just taken from Loma Linda in the coroners van with many law enforcement following with silent lights.

Okay, SotU. That's less depressing right now.

are Biden and Boehner really wearing lavender and pink ties?
Hm, looks lilac and salmon to me...

Did Obama decree that his colors were blush and bashful?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

About half of congress is wearing pink and lavender ties, in both parties. I find it oddly charming.

Is there an @JoeBidensGlasses Twitter account yet? Because, seriously, Joe, stop fiddling. On or off, pick a side!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

It is bad that I'm glad the SOTU is continuing Obama's FU to the Republican party?

Because books.

Did Obama decree that his colors were blush and bashful?

Heh.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

McCain looks like his face will crack if he moves it.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Hm, looks lilac and salmon to me...

I'll give you lilac but I'm not seeing salmon.

He's starting to look sick to his stomach.

When he took a drink of water I was desperately hoping Obama would say something big enough to cause a spit take. (Yes, I do work in theatre).

Boehner keeps forgetting not to heave a deep obvious sigh.

POTUS is proposing a LOT of big serious changes. Does he really think he can do even half of that with a Congress that's not obstructing him any less than it did in his first term?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I think the goal isn't to reach all those goals, it's to highlight the role of the Republicans as obstructionists.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Somebody's calling out "That's right!" a couple times. I expect to hear an "Amen!" in a minute.
