I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Fingers crossed, Sue.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good luck, Sue! Good luck with actually getting off the ground and out of the country this time.

Good luck, Scrappy! Good luck with having them recognize your awesomeness.

That LA stuff is really scary.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

but the police are not helping me feel like there's a safe resolution in the works.

Oh, there is really not. This is going to end really badly. For everyone.

msbelle, I tend to not believe those kinds of stories but I have to say, I don't really think we'll ever know the truth and I wouldn't be surprised if the truth were, at the very least, somewhere in the middle. This feels way too personal on both sides.

On a totally shallow note, who ever is doing this press conference is in just perfect light. Movies do not look this good.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

msbelle,

I think Dorner is telling some truth, but his manifesto (and I have not read it all) is not the work of a 100% with it human being. So I bet he had legitimate beef, but (if what he is accused of doing is true), you don't deal with employment beef by killing folk.

I hope the LAPD starts considering how they monitor ex-employees whether such employees get appropriate care post-firing. If he hadn't felt his life was over, maybe he wouldn't have used the nuclear option on his way out.

Right. And yet there are people out there making t-shirts and posters in support of him. Argh.

ION, I'm about done with being a breeding-age female. Argh, in fact.

And no news from HR. But hey, next week I'm taking a day and a half off to go skiing in Colorado! Yay!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

oh yeah, no doubt he has lost all sense of appropriate and right acting. Not in support of him, neither are my friends who think he is telling the truth.

meara - Feb 12, 2013 3:46:13 pm PST #11025 of 30001

Yeah, the whole thing is sketch. Sure, he's clearly off his rocker and killing people is my right, but LAPD should consider that my first thought was "you fired him for telling on his supervisor?!?" And totally would believe his supervisor kicked someone. Also on the radio on my way home they were like "someone who might be him emerged from the burning cabin, but was pushed back in!" Which....what?!? Someone who may or may not be your suspect was PUSHED INTO A BURNING BUILDING?? Not something to do, much less advertise!! (A few minutes later they claimed that wasn't true, but STILL). PR people are not dealing well with this shit.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I feel like shortly after reality left the building (publicly) for Dorner, it similarly exited for the police, and they have way more bullets.

WE CAN SEE YOU.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I don't support him. I just think that he's not just trying to cause random death. The last guy he carjacked, he clearly told he wouldn't hurt him and then he let the guy get his dogs out of the back of the truck safely before he took the truck.

I just hope this is over today. It would be good to learn the whole story but, honestly, I doubt that will happen.
