Yeah, the whole thing is sketch. Sure, he's clearly off his rocker and killing people is my right, but LAPD should consider that my first thought was "you fired him for telling on his supervisor?!?" And totally would believe his supervisor kicked someone. Also on the radio on my way home they were like "someone who might be him emerged from the burning cabin, but was pushed back in!" Which....what?!? Someone who may or may not be your suspect was PUSHED INTO A BURNING BUILDING?? Not something to do, much less advertise!! (A few minutes later they claimed that wasn't true, but STILL). PR people are not dealing well with this shit.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I feel like shortly after reality left the building (publicly) for Dorner, it similarly exited for the police, and they have way more bullets.

WE CAN SEE YOU.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I don't support him. I just think that he's not just trying to cause random death. The last guy he carjacked, he clearly told he wouldn't hurt him and then he let the guy get his dogs out of the back of the truck safely before he took the truck.

I just hope this is over today. It would be good to learn the whole story but, honestly, I doubt that will happen.

Because books.

The whole thing is so horrifying, I don't even know Dorner's story. And the police reaction is just as terrifying. The whole thing is sort of unreal.

hip deep in pie

So, I am in the Air Canada executive class lounge. The lady I shared a cab with last night, offered to pick me up today. Then we got to the airport and she had a guest pass for the lounge. What's nice is how quiet it is in here. And the free food and drink.

Like Diane Cort and Lloyd Dobler, I am not breathing out until the seat belt sign is off.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Also on the radio on my way home they were like "someone who might be him emerged from the burning cabin, but was pushed back in!" Which....what?!? I dunno, when I was listening to the press conference, the whole thing felt like: Reporter asks absurdly sensationalist question. Speaker says something like "I have not heard that" or "I have no information on that" or my favorite "It's an unfolding situation. They aren't updating me." Reporter repeats sensational claim. And on and on until: Reporter: "So we don't know for sure, but there IS a possibility that t insert sensational claim "

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Good luck, Sue.

Geez, I hadn't heard the whole story on the Dorner thing. Yikes!

On a shallow note... are Biden and Boehner really wearing lavender and pink ties? It is a refreshing change from the red power ties.

I'm on a bit of a delay (I think only a minute or three) because I had to pause the LA coverage from upset and Googling a few times but yes.
