Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
And one of my two deadlines for today got cancelled, and I am still off the hook for the event my department is working on. In short, I expect to have a good day.
FRIDAY.
Aaaand post-tour melancholy commenced about an hour ago. All these new people I said goodbye to and our inside jokes and almost all I'll never see or hear from again!
Ah well, it is what it is. One more day in Cairns, then the hell flights. May e I'll get lucky again?
sarameg - I've so enjoyed your Australia reports.
Nilly and Shir - wishing safety to you and your's.
Thanks everyone for all the birthday wishes. Nothing like coming to the b.org on your birthday. Totally mood lifting. In fact, I think that if you are down, you should do the search on Natter for your birthday just to see all the good wishes.
Also: a mysterious work b-day benefactor left me a Lindt Excellence Intense Orange dark chocolate bar in my mailbox. Yum!

Apparently a lot of Republicans just want Romney to shut up and go away.
Wow, Romney really doesn't get it, does he?
What's wrong with pointing out that Obama won by adopting policies that helped narrow special interest groups like non-whites, or young people, or women?
Apparently a lot of Republicans just want Romney to shut up and go away.
Which would be convincing if they didn't agree with him. And they do. They just don't want this shit publicly aired.
They are disagreeing with him so they can look more moderate in contrast and perhaps save their political futures in 2 or 4 years.
