this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

It's more of Asia than just China, but yes.

How much more?

One of my friends is from Laos, and she and her family celebrate it. (I guess that doesn't necessarily mean that it's celebrated in Laos, but I'm going to make that assumption.)

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

How much more?

I know that Vietnam celebrates it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Wikipedia deems:

  • Chinese New Year
  • Japanese New Year
  • Korean New Year
  • Mongolian New Year
  • Tibetan New Year
  • Vietnamese New Year

I was asking because I was confused by "the" lunar new year, since there's no reason every lunar calendar would start on the same day, but Wikipedia says those are the new year's days that fall on the same day as the Chinese one. There are other lunar new year's days (including Jewish, Burmese, etc) that are on other days.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

but Wikipedia says those are the new year's days that fall on the same day as the Chinese one

Those would be the cultures which largely comprise the Asian population in San Francisco. Hence the day off, I guess.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

My sister was out celebrating Tibetan New Year with the Shambhala Center most of the day.

It's Rosh Chodesh Adar, which could be considered a Jewish holiday if you have a really generous definition of holiday. Probably hard to justify taking off from work for it.

Also, happy Lundi Gras.

Art Crawl!!!

Watching the Toy Group and they talked about Pomeranians having been bred down from sled dogs - so I googled Pomeranians in snow and found this. Enjoy.

Art Crawl!!!

Norwegian Lundehunds are one of the new breeds this year. They're known for being polydactyl.

Oooh, good subtitle for Lundi Gras in Leningrad. Or part of a tagline.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Norwegian Lundehunds are one of the new breeds this year. They're known for being polydactyl.

I read that as saying that they're known for being pterodactyls. Which would be quite awesome.
