Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Hope it's uneventful from here, Sue.

Stuff like having Lunar New Year off is why I occasionally want to leave my rural enclave and live in a metropolis. It's like, hey, some places acknowledge people other than white people exist!

Crappy, but beautiful, snow day here. About to buy a new computer, I think.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm assuming that Lunar New Year is being observed for Chinese New Year? I don't remember having a Jewish holiday for it.

My sister's friends are...adopting me. One is ccing me on emails about articles that she thinks need to be commented on, and another (who I haven't even met, just shared a cc line with one time) is apparently trying to play Words With Friends with me.

She'll live to rue that--and not in an "I'll whup her" way--apparently she's good, and I'll lose piteously. I mean in an "I play once ever 10 days" way.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm assuming that Lunar New Year is being observed for Chinese New Year?

It's more of Asia than just China, but yes.

Taxes filed! Hope I didn't screw that up!

And I was just totally confused about my healthcare plan- it didn't have HDHP on the card, but it was totally in the title when I checked out the benefits site.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

One of my friends is from Laos, and she and her family celebrate it. (I guess that doesn't necessarily mean that it's celebrated in Laos, but I'm going to make that assumption.)

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

How much more?

I know that Vietnam celebrates it.
