See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

General request for non-Popish harassment:

I wrote a small drabble related to the story inspired by tommyrot's Enid; it didn't suck, and hence when I start riffing on totally unrelated stuff here people need to tell me to shut the shit up and go away until I've written another drabble.

People, of course, mostly including me. I desperately need to get my own "Get her words out" ass in gear.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

it didn't suck

You should post it at Great Write Way and link it here for people that were enthusiastic about your Steampunk girls adventure. It's really an excellent start.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

So I went to Hallmark to get a card for my parents' anniversary. 49 years. I can't believe it. Anyway, they were selling shoes! When did it happen where Hallmark sells shoes alongside cards and invitations.

Yay for writing, JZ!

And HUGE yay for ita !'s nurse visit!

I gave blood this morning, and sat around for a while after, chatting with my coworker, who was donating for the first time. She actually just quit to take a super exciting job at a big magazine, so this was one of our last chances to sit and talk. She's probably my favorite person in our office, and I'm going to miss her.

And, sadly, you still have a better chance of being the next Pope, or any Pope, than I do.

JZ, during the euolgy at my friend's Mother's funeral, her BFF he talked about her desire to be a RC priest. He said that after she received her Masters? PhD?, her local archibishop, who was a mentor to her, took her credentials to Rome where he presented them for ordination at the Vatican. It was a symbolic gesture, clearly, but nice to see that there are people within the church willing to do that kind of thing.

Also, I am back at the airport, having all kinds of deja vu. (There was a group of Russian men on the bus back into town yesterday, and I passed them at the Air Canada check in counter today) Send flight-ma and vacation-ma my way please.

Also, there was a message from my mother when I got home last nigh...sigh.

Forgot to add, giant WOOT! to the woo-woo nurse and the respite from ER roulette hell.
