this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I finally went to the dentist after a decade of ignoring my teeth due to various stupid sorta phobic/denial issues.

Oh hi, my teeth and forthcoming Very Expensive Implant (and crowns, and root planing and scaling).

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

As long as pain is dealt with, I will be okay. But I am not altogether sure I need the crown in the first place, so that's part of my hesitation. I think I'm going to have him do the 2 fillings and he will have to explain to me why I need the crown.

I had one spot where they wanted to crown but it wasn't absolutely called for so I went for just having him do a larger filling. I honestly regret that now.

It's the tenderest spot in my mouth and because it's on the top, plays terrible games with my sinuses when they act up. Probably because the material is not teeth and thus responds to pressures and temperatures slightly differently than tooth.

I think I'd be much happier if I'd just had them crown it at first.

Which could be a vastly different situation than yours.

I just had no idea the repercussions I could have when opting for a filling on the larger end versus crowning. It seemed like the easy choice at the time and I was wrong.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

My new dentist hates my old dentist for what he considers poor decisions in my dental history. On the other hand, I think I have convinced my new dentist that I am not going to appear in movies anytime soon, and do not need teeth that would be a flawless blinding smile twenty feet high on screen. Function, please, and let someone else put your youngest through law school.

I am so very much on the JZ book wagon. I offer beta services. I can be very nice!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Well, NYC schools are supposedly open tomorrow even though we're supposed to get a foot of snow dumped on us. Looking forward to a hellish commute tomorrow, yeah!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Someone's pissing me off on Facebook. Need to step away.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Shrift had a flight delay.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Cass,

that is a sane and reasonable perspective. I hope my id gets it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Slightly random question: I'm halfway through a sequence of OTP pictures--I have two weeks left to go. And assaulting my files at this rate is making me bored with more and more of them.

Do you guys stumble onto good couple pictures? I can't promise they'll work for this, but I file everything forever--it might be used later. I would be grateful.

So, Grey's did a stealth operation--how do you get stealth drugs? You can't do that at UCLA. Controls, people. All over the place. Weirdly.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Re: Grey's: stealth drugs or procedures make zero sense when you know how big hospitals are run . I wouldn't think it could actually happen without quick repercussion.

that is a sane and reasonable perspective. I hope my id gets it.

It's a tough thing to decide in the moment. I am just looking back with the perspective of having lived this particular choice and knowing it probably wasn't the right one. It might have been for someone else. I just have not infrequent pain above that area and I think if I'd gone for the crown, it would have been the better choice for that situation. Live and learn.
