Suzi, that is just awful. I'm so sorry.

Double post.
Everyone is pretty quiet though it is easy to tell who knew her versus who knew her name. Her cube is kittycorner from mine and people have been stopping by her space to just have a quiet moment.
She just had one of those very vibrant personalities. While she has sat near me for the past 2-3 years, we have never specifically worked together. Even so, she would always take a moment to say hello and chat about stuff - work or personal. We sat close enough that we would overhear eachothers conversations. Once I switched to working from home more often than not, our chats were less common but when we saw eachother it was catch up time.
As hard as it is to be in the office today, I'm glad I picked today out of this week.
Suzi, wow, that's so fast. Thanks for sharing a bit more about her. I can tell she's really missed. Very sad.
Suzi, I'm sorry.
In other fuck cancer news, my boss goes in for surgery tomorrow to remove a tumor in his tongue. He will be out for at least three weeks. He will need to relearn how to swallow and speak.
While he's out I'll be trying to do his job and mine which will probably be overwhelming but nothing compared to what he's dealing with.
I hope he does well and recovers quickly, aurelia. And Suzi, I'm very sorry.
Tommy, when you get your 3D printer, can you make me some of these?
Yeah, I gotta get on that.
Coincidentally, I just ordered this Parallax Laser Range Finder. I'm going to attach that to a servo-powered tilt/pan thingie, which will be controlled by an Arduino. The end result will be a simple 3-D laser scanner. (OK, it'll only be capable of scanning one side of a 3-D object at a time. Unless I build a turntable to scan objects on.)
So I will be able to do a 3-D scan of my face and 3-D print a Pez head from it.
Tommyrot, that whole post means almost nothing to me, but then the last sentence sounds awfully cool, so....yay?
MakerBot moved their headquarters to the building next to mine at work.
So I will be able to do a 3-D scan of my face and 3-D print a Pez head from it.
Let me know when you can 3-D print me a Winchester, okay?
