Congratulations to the class of 1999. You all proved more or less adequate.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Jessica, yes. Especially because lots of the other ones in DC of that size have mitigation of weird double lanes etc.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I mean, that's where I learned to drive, so maybe I'm just used to it.

I felt like that about LA freeways. Then I moved away for long enough that they startle me again. I can drive in So Cal, but I acknowledge it is weird and more than a little bloodthirsty.

I learned to drive with a traffic circle in my neighborhood. Used to wonder why they weren't more common.

Three day's of A's games. I'm a happy Suzi. Anyone friended on facebook has been flooded with my A's fangirling. But I thought I'd share a cool picture with y'all.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

"Yeah, it's stupid, but I'm gonna do it anyway."

I take away more of a no harm no foul no regrets sort of thing. Like YOLO can encompass taking a big risk--it's not necessarily stupid, but it's not sensible.

I don't like when drivers hesitate, because then I don't know when things are going to happen. I really like to put as much distance between me and people stutter stepping on the gas as possible.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Three day's of A's games.

And they swept the Rockies! With lots of home runs!

OH, we were there for every inning, David. Did you check out the link?

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

OK, just got home, and my package is here!

Hooray!

When I'm in KC people think I'm an aggressive driver. I don't think that's true, but too many niceties will certainly make me an impatient driver.

I promised photos of 3D Tetris - The Home Game. Day one. Day two. Day three. I had to take the door off the hinges to get the sofa & swivel rockers into the room.

I've spent about a day and a half putting things back. I think I'm just down to the entertainment center and things that were on the walls. I will have to wash everything in the kitchen cabinets though, because they failed to mask off the cabinets like they promised. I'm too weary to tackle that tonight.

I used to go through it every day, and the Chevy Chase roundabout is definitely bad. At least some of the other big ones have so many lights you stop every five feet (Dupont) even if people still don't know what lanes to get into!

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

The problem I think this guy (and maybe everybody else in the room but he's the only one who said anything) has is that I don't give people a chance to finish what they are saying, I guess? Or I talk over people?

I can't help but wonder if this is an ingrained gendered response to a woman who has power in a meeting, or who is anything less than completely subservient in a corporate context. I oversimplify, of course, but damn don't I see a LOT of completely internalized sexism in the workplace.

I'm feeling a little aggro on the fate of my gender these days. This happens more and more frequently until something shiny distracts me from it.
