Me, too. Though I really have to think where a person grows up is also hugely formative w/r/t what is good for them to eat and/or what their body craves. For example, I don't function well unless I'm getting a lot of coldwater fish (specifically salmon and cod) in my diet, with tomatoes and pumpkin taking a high priority in the summer. It's pretty clear what nutrients my body is putting at the top of the "must have NAO" list, and only the fish would have been available to my ancestors.
Potatoes are native to the Americas. Before Columbus, Europeans and Africans and Asians ate root vegetables, but not potatoes because they did not have any. So if you are doing Paleo and trying to match your ancestors diet pre-agriculture, forget potatoes unless you are Native American.

It was really interesting to me to realize that if "average lifespan" was 50 (a made-up number), that didn't mean that 50-year-olds were elderly, just that a lot of people died at 20 or whatever.
