Not sure yet, possibly a reaction to a new medication that set her heart racing. I'm going to take some extra time on a pre-planned trip to her city Saturday to check in on her, and I think Mom and another cousin may do the same Sunday.

I've always loved this line ridiculously and it is almost embarrassing how often it pops to mind in discussions of life and morality and that sort of thing. I mean, it's pretty much my SOP in life. Articulated by a tv show.

I just had a hook and ladder drive onto my street, sirens going, and park immediately in front of my driveway. I'm not sure why though, since all they did was talk to my across the street neighbor for a couple of minutes, and then stand in the street for a while.

That's still pretty ridiculous. Not quite as ridiculous as coming back to "the scene of the crime" would have been, but wow. I can't imagine how he would think that anything positive would come of that attempt.

ChiKat, that's so sad. Is your sister in denial or just lying about stuff?
I don't think she's in denial. I think it just boils down to a pretty simple, but sad, explanation: she loves him and doesn't think she deserves better. So, better to stay his "other woman" rather than be alone. She hides the relationship from the rest of the family. I made it pretty clear about a year ago that I thought staying with him was self-destructive and I wouldn't talk to her about it anymore. I do know they still see each other, but I don't know any more than that. Oh! And, she's become friends with his wife. Who, of course, doesn't know she's sleeping with her husband. But whatever. The whole thing is fucked up from start to finish.
