I just had a hook and ladder drive onto my street, sirens going, and park immediately in front of my driveway. I'm not sure why though, since all they did was talk to my across the street neighbor for a couple of minutes, and then stand in the street for a while.

That's still pretty ridiculous. Not quite as ridiculous as coming back to "the scene of the crime" would have been, but wow. I can't imagine how he would think that anything positive would come of that attempt.

ChiKat, that's so sad. Is your sister in denial or just lying about stuff?
I don't think she's in denial. I think it just boils down to a pretty simple, but sad, explanation: she loves him and doesn't think she deserves better. So, better to stay his "other woman" rather than be alone. She hides the relationship from the rest of the family. I made it pretty clear about a year ago that I thought staying with him was self-destructive and I wouldn't talk to her about it anymore. I do know they still see each other, but I don't know any more than that. Oh! And, she's become friends with his wife. Who, of course, doesn't know she's sleeping with her husband. But whatever. The whole thing is fucked up from start to finish.

Well, it's not a problem until it is. If they check your bags and you are flying with something that is prescription only and can't show a script or bottle, yeah, it can be a problem.
It's like having proof of insurance in your car if you get pulled over. It's not really enough that you actually have the insurance, you also need the proof or you can get a ticket.
Most of the times you drive, it's not an issue. But it's still the technical requirement and can be a pain if you don't have it. But with narcotics.

$1500 for shipping? Wow! I would think that it would be cheaper to fly it there yourself. Book a commercial flight, carry on the package and then fly back. All while taking advantage of the duty-free liquor.
