Today was a clusterfuck. New software+ new mode of observations ground our server to a complete and utter meltdown in less than 45 minutes. Wouldn't even respond on the console (and this is a robust-hah- system that shouldn't allow this kind of memory suck to tie it in knots.) We had to powercycle it. Luckily(?) I have a lot of experience with catastrophic power failure reboots so it wasn't... catastrophic. Just painful.
I'm working one more day this week and then fuckit. And won't be back until Thursday. On one hand, I feel bad for my coworkers and earning my kudos for dealing with the epic clusterfuck. OTOH? GET ME OUT OF HERE!
Noah's gotten LONG! Dang. Yay swimming!
Thanks! I'm really proud of him. The skill he is working on is lifting his head and breathing en route. And yes, YAY swimming indeed. Also, diving board. Blows my mind.
You like it, Shrift?
Do you use it for the sleep tracking aspect at all? I'm really curious about that.
I use a fitbit too and so does K. I have the ultra, which tells me how few stairs I climb, but I like it because it allows me to track activities of higher intensity and shorter duration.
The sleep thing is more theoretically interesting than it is in practice. Even though I have 8 hours in bed I still am sleep deprived.

Right, yeah. I am usually in bed for 8 hours but I sleep way less than that on a weeknight I'm sure. I think I wake up a ton during the night. And have a hard time falling asleep many nights. Not like terrible insomnia, by any means, but it's bad enough lately that I'm thinking of talking to a doctor about it. And I like the idea of having data about how I'm sleeping!
I was looking at the ultra and I think I'd be inclined to add some step climbing into my day if it was being tracked!
every single county supervisor has refused to carry out the purge.
I am thinking some of them may not want to spend time in federal prison.
