This is standing at the halfway point of the tiki bar. Notice the creepy buckling in the "roof". Also, there were no windows. All the stuff that looked like windows was plastic sheeting stapled to a frame. [link]

The blue room is the second tiki bar that is half the garage. Notice the indoor blue stucco.

That there is a house that tells a very clear story about the previous owner.

But the inside of the house itself was like woman in her 40s. the kitchen, minus the misplaced fridge, was gorgeous, with subway tiling beautifully done. The master bathroom was amazing as was the main bathroom.

It was like a bipolar house.

Party house, wooooo!!

All of the trees in the back are mature fruit bearing trees (fig, chermoya, orange, plum and lemon)

This sounds amazing! Yay house!

YES, msbelle. Agreed. Except (and this is a big except) it had a foundation set on concrete slab. Tearing it down would totally be a money pit. Plus the main house needed some work on the roof and we'd have to put in central heat and air. So no.

Did you just meet the owners and agree on terms?

Essentially we looked at it yesterday and really liked the landlord. We had explained our in the middle of house buying dilemma and said we'd know today if we would be renting.

We then emailed her today and said we'd like to put in an application. We met at the house and she didn't glance at our paperwork and said, "When do you want to move in?"

We meet again to do deposit and lease signing and key getting.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

But then, there was a second building on the property. With a putting green. And a tiki bar half the size of the actual house. With a dart board. and two bars. All powered by EXTENSION CORDS from the actual house.

Yeah, I would totally do that and find those desirable features.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Yay Kat, glad you found a house. Didn't see the pics but the yard sounds wonderful.

The tiki bar is hilarious. I don't even...

Congrats on finding a house.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I will now proceed to imagine Grace and Noah having great romps in the backyard.

I was just reading a post about the character DC will be making gay (inasmuch as the first few times round, he wasn't gay, but in the reboot he will be) and I saw a lot of nutso and often hateful stuff, but the person who thought it was irrelevant because the character was coded "top" and they're not interested until they get a bottom hero.

Seriously? That's a totally new objection for me...you won't support the effort because no one with superpowers is getting a prostate thumping from their partner?

However, I guess if they write the gay superhero as shorter than their partner, then we'll have achieved something.
