But the inside of the house itself was like woman in her 40s. the kitchen, minus the misplaced fridge, was gorgeous, with subway tiling beautifully done. The master bathroom was amazing as was the main bathroom.

YES, msbelle. Agreed. Except (and this is a big except) it had a foundation set on concrete slab. Tearing it down would totally be a money pit. Plus the main house needed some work on the roof and we'd have to put in central heat and air. So no.

Did you just meet the owners and agree on terms?
Essentially we looked at it yesterday and really liked the landlord. We had explained our in the middle of house buying dilemma and said we'd know today if we would be renting.
We then emailed her today and said we'd like to put in an application. We met at the house and she didn't glance at our paperwork and said, "When do you want to move in?"
We meet again to do deposit and lease signing and key getting.
But then, there was a second building on the property. With a putting green. And a tiki bar half the size of the actual house. With a dart board. and two bars. All powered by EXTENSION CORDS from the actual house.
Yeah, I would totally do that and find those desirable features.
