Because books.

I tried to get my sister to submit content here

The menstrual groups of the 1840s must have been a big, big hit.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The menstrual groups of the 1840s must have been a big, big hit.

That was *precisely* the entry that floated across my dash and made me send her the link.

I feel really bad for anyone who teaches higher education, and for the people that prepare kids for higher education. Having read many of the essays written by my sister's students, that shit is rough.

I was never taught how to write a paper, with thesis statement, et al. I'm really wondering why an Oxbridge mill like my last high school didn't look at essays that way, when it seems to be a normal part of US education, even though it doesn't stick as much as you'd want.

In other news, I can't get my new gold or silver Sharpies to write. Dammit, I have a black envelope I need to address.

Oh, this one is too delightful not to share:

The Cotton Gin refers to the alcohol consumed by those working on cotton farms.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ah, that baby! He's really gotten the "gentle, gentle" message.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

In America we have “equal rights” so the Government says although women still get paid a lower salary than males, they still try.

Accidentally apt scare quote usage. Nice.
