Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

It went really well! He has an in-person appointment on Monday!

Wonderful news!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Great news for S.!

Excellent news for Omnis on his house too.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Yay for S and the good interview!

And Cass, sorry about the crying. Sometimes you need to cry.

Cleaning has been going well, but now I am soooo tired. How does that happen? And should I caffeinate, or is it too late in the day? Maybe oolong...?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I need to go to Shanghai.

Literally float above Shanghai streets in this glass bottom pool | DVICE

Many hotel pools seem like an after thought, and something you could definitely take a pass on. This pool, however, is something you wouldn't forget. As you swim to the deep end you are treated to a glass-bottomed view as you hang 24 stories above the streets of Shanghai.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

The cold room at work is having problems, so it is going to be shut down tomorrow morning. Which means that it had to be cleaned out, which meant I went through a bunch of stuff. Most was thrown out, and the rest was relocated. Fun, fun, fun.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

About how much should you tip for a $45 haircut? I made one for tonight because I realized with Mom's 90th bday party on Saturday there will be pictures and so on.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yay, S!

Theo, I always tip 20% for that kind of thing, so I'd do $9.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

People are floundering again. I am not supposed to be the motivated plan-ahead one in the group. But I'm frustrated by how non-committal people are being in face of troubleshooting.

Like, people are talking to each other, and no one is listening, but then again, you've been sent the document twice today--why are you still looking for it. Good god, the cross-purposes are an arrow to the knee.

I second the 20%. Though I have a really hard time the few times it's been a haircut I hate, because I don't want to NOT tip, and be That Girl but I also don't want to reward a bad haircut....and usually I'm all emo by that point anyway and get flustered and tip like, 15%. Which is stupid, when I hate the haircut....

brillig

I think I tipped something like 30% the last time I got my haircut, but the girl did more for me than all the previous cutters--got out books to look for ideas and actually had advice and asked clear questions about what to do with that stuff on my head.
