Spike: We got a history, him and me. Fred: What? Spike: It was a long time ago. He was a young Watcher, fresh out of the academy when we crossed paths. It was a, what-you-call battle of wills and blood was spilled. Vendettas were sworn. It was a whole-- Fred: My God you're so full of crap. Spike: Yeah. Okay.

Trust my rage

So I just yelled at a group of neighborhood kids who were being mean to Frisco. They were hanging out in our front yard (he's four, they are in 2nd and 5th grade) and he went out to ask if he could play with them. After telling him to go inside and play with his sister, the ringleader whispered in everyone's ear and they all ran off, leaving him crying. Anyway, when they came back by, i told them they didn't have to play with him but they can't be rude to him in his own yard and to go somewhere else.

That was okay, right? I was so mad on his behalf but I always worry about yelling at other peoples' kids. (and these are normally good kids but the ringleader is always mean and builds herself up by putting others down)

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Sheesh, it's mean little kid day! Yes, that was fine.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

That was more than OK Stephanie. It's more important for Frisco that he sees you standing up for him.

And yeah, even nice kids can be mean, and they deserve to be called on it when they are.

Art Crawl!!!

Wow. Kids. So mean.

Also, I've discovered that I can watch my youtube subscriptions on Tivo. (Is this new? I knew about Netflix.) The controls aren't very good. And I seem to have subscribed to about a million random puppy videos.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Community season 3 final exam: [link]

I wasn't very good at it. I need to rewatch the season and try again.

Thanks, Burrell!

And, yikes, kids. And the being kids. Mean kids.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Sheesh, it's mean little kid day! Yes, that was fine.

Seriously! Happy summer, y'all.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Well, this has kind of been a waste of a long weekend. I've done almost nothing except make soup for my parents and prune the roses. And read metric fuckloads of Avengers fic.

Bah.

I blame a sinus infection. At least I just now put together some cassoulet and groomed the dog, while listening to Ian Carmichael read Lord Peter Wimsey. It's very soothing.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

First, you buy a dress. Something light and floaty. For shoes, I would suggest flats or wedges, since you'll be on grass. A cool pair of sunglasses is a must, and, of course, a stylish hat is essential.

Add in the strawberries and fizzy wine and this sounds like the perfect sport for me. But absolutely flats.

Kids (and people) can be terribly mean.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I've managed to accomplish something every day this weekend, which is very nice, but it has all been outside stuff. Except for putting some mango-yellow paint (free!) on the laundry room walls and judging it "pretty cheery". Now I am wiped out and all whiny at the thought of going back to work tomorrow. I don't deal well with heat/humidity. I asked my sister, was it this bad when we were kids? We grew up in an un-air-conditioned house, and while I remember it being hot, I don't remember it being this utterly, unendurably miserable. I could go outside and play in the summertime without dying.

It's 86degF and 60% humidity, no breeze to speak of, at 8:20pm. In May. I want to move to Canada.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I scanned almost 400 pictures on Sat. and Sun. and am now uploading them to Flickr.

Here's a question: On some of the photos I have identified my mom's parents as "Grampa and Grandma xxxx" (with real last name, obviously).

Now I'm thinking I shouldn't, as anyone seeing that will know my mom's maiden name.

Thoughts?
