ION, Emmett broke the 7 minute mile for the first time since he was in 5th grade. This is not insignificant for his baseball catcher self. Also, this is his last year of P.E. for high school so he won't be running many miles.
Also, he's currently sporting a Puck-ish semi-Mohawk (everybody on the Varsity team got one for the final game yesterday).
I'm sorry about the comments on that site. I didn't read them.
Lord amighty, it is hot in the Charlotte airport.
Also, Joe Biden apparently just left. No idea if those two things are related.

I am pretty strict about this rule. It helps with the sanity. Just yesterday I had a spirited discussion with crazy employee about reading comments. She was citing proof of some crazy theory (you don't want to know) by pointing to anonymous comments on some tinfoil site she follows. After a couple of us tried to point out the flaws in that line of proof we stopped discussion. That would be rule 2 - don't argue with the crazy lady.
I keep forgetting that Yahoo's Comments are a wretched hive of scum and villainy, without the mitigating factor of a youngish Harrison Ford. The comments section of our local "they must be radical lefties, though the rest of the world would call them staid conservatives" paper is an amusing microcosm of local views that gives me hope some people in this state have progressive brains. I've been in there long enough to know the players and the back stories of the insults.
Got CJ's grades. Nothing fantastic, mostly B's and C's. One D. Which bites but he was running at risk of having 3 D's, so this is a better outcome. AND he is no longer under the threat of being on grade probation for ARP. (If they have 1 F or 2 D's, then they are on probation for 6 weeks).
Please, please, please let 10th grade be a better, less stressful year.
More New!Job likes carrots: my division has been given tomorrow off for a 4-day weekend, because of some successful builds and whatnot, the managers are throwing an ice cream social at 4pm today, AND the email specifically said there would be GF ice creams and toppings available. Whee!
New!Job has been pretty cool, so far. Chaotic, but cool. And very unlike That Other Software Co. I worked for, in terms of management and support.
And do they love their Perky Goth? Does anyone conduct tours to show you off?

No tours, but some co-workers do make a point of searching me out every day to see what I'm wearing. And my boss mock-apologized for scheduling a second 9am meeting one week, saying he knew it was hard for the nocturnal vampire types.
