Yeah, he said the pain was like that. Plus he heard a "pop" when it happened. I'm guessing not good.

ION, Matilda is home sick with a fever and a cough. Which sucks because this is her last week of school and it cut into my Toddson time.
Still, I was able to have breakfast with Todd (Zazie, 'natch), and then drove her through GG Park and out to the ocean. We stopped at Green Apple books for a bit, then went to Japantown and poked around some more.
Then I made Todd go to TJ's with me when I got the call about Matilda. JZ collected Matilda from school and after I came home with groceries she tagged out and headed back to work.
Also, we got Emmett's baseball schedule this summer and it will be crazy busy. Though the good part is that it's mostly games and not much practice, so it's just bang bang bang game game game.
He also got his orientation at work so I have the sinking suspicion that I'll be chauffeuring him about quite a bit this summer. (His job is nowhere near any public transit, which I didn't know was possible in the Bay Area, but Alameda is its own fiefdom.)
::makes note to shoot Hec, to shore up his hyperbole::
More hyperbolous? "I felt like I was shot with a rail gun loaded with shurikens!"
A lot of people with strained muscles compare it to getting shot. (I didn't think it was a bullet, but I thought somebody had nailed me with a pellet gun.)

Yeah, see! Fortunately, it's not a long term problem. Unfortunately, it hurts and is easy to reinjure. You have to baby it for about six weeks.

Shurikens covered with fire ants!

Short recovery~ma to Dave! Hearing a pop is scary.
I'm really sad that I'm pretty sure Minnetonka moccasins are racist, because Casper wants a pair.
This is one of those dilemmas in there are so many "on the other hands" that tie me in mental knots.
- Moccasins appropriate traditional Native American garb, but similar shoes have been made throughout the world. Most Minnetonka moccasins don't have Native-American-inspired beadwork.
- Minnetonka is a Dakota-Sioux place name, so it's not directly co-opting a tribal name.
- It's a family-owned American company.
- The shoes are mostly made in the Dominican Republic.

And you know they won't like that. Gets 'em all riled up, it does. Them's fightin' fire ants.
So I shoot Dave too. No problem. I'd wait till he heals to be nice, but that will make the comparison less accurate.
And...that was tasteless.
Interesting lifehacker post about your rights taking photos: [link] . Interesting commentary too, but in the end I feel no less hesitant about candids of strangers than before.
They mention "expectation of privacy" and AA in conjunction a couple of times. Does AA have a legal expectation of privacy, or is it inherent in the name, or the rules of the organisation? I mean, how far do I have to go to establish *this* roomful of people having an expectation of privacy, when the group that meets in the same room in an hour might not?
Box jellyfish who were angered by raging anemones!
Yeah. During the next six weeks we are supposed to: finish the school year and close up the house, travel to Kansas, board meeting, vbs, travel to Illinois, wedding, music festival, travel to Indiana. And then the hard work starts. Including more vbs and a camp and then an eight week, ten state tour.
So.
"Pretty bad tear" is the verdict. Walking cast for now and ortho guy later.
