I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

But I also think the lawyer isaybe not comfortable telling you straight out not to make the payment.

You are correct! The response I got from him after asking for clarification is:

I can't tell you not to pay the June payment but yes it will be quicker if you don't pay it.

So basically if you had been a deadbeat sooner, this would've been EASIER? That seems so wrong.

Yep. And yep.

Always Anti-fascist!

I think I still like Booker. I'd hate to have my whole life summed up by two minutes on Meet The Press, though of course, were I a surrogate, it'd be my damn sense of humor that only sick people get that would hurt me. And by extension, whatever POTUS-ista I'd embarrass by seemingly implying that foreclosed people could barbecue their puppies, or that "Some folks need killin'" or what-have-you.I'm probably one of the few politically aware people who reads the "horrible mistakes" Joe Biden makes and thinks "What?"(Except for "clean and articulate"...that really was awkward.) I'm giving up "The Last Word" though, because it will never fill the Countdown hole and because some twinkie named Krystal Ball gets to go on TV almost every night and decide who to take seriously. Suddenly, last night I decided there *can* be too much irony.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Grace is out of surgery. No decannulation. Maybe next time they'll go down a size in trachs. In other words, she will still be trached until at least next year this time. And it will mean she will be further behind in school because she can't talk.

I'm done for the day. Too bad I still have 3 classes to teach.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ugh!

So basically if you had been a deadbeat sooner, this would've been EASIER? That seems so wrong.

A similar thing happened to a friend who wanted to consolidate credit card debt or something -- she always paid on time (but not enough to get anywhere), so she didn't qualify for certain kinds of support.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Aw shit, Kat. I'm sorry things didn't go the way you hoped.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Yesterday's grown-up pup was a pug that lives with a liver flatcoat.

Man, at first I thought "liver flatcoat" was some sad chronic disease the pug was living with.

So basically if you had been a deadbeat sooner, this would've been EASIER? That seems so wrong.

As long as you're still treading water, they won't throw you a life raft. You've got to be sinking and half-dead already before you qualify for help.

some twinkie named Krystal Ball

She ran for... some gov'mint office around here last year. We couldn't stop making fun of the billboards. "Krystal Ball sees the future of politics!"

I'm sorry it didn't happen, Kat.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm rooting for your girl, Kat. Soon enough it'll be just like Noah--you'll think back to the quiet times when she didn't talk.
