Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am very impressed with all the work you put in. VERY.

Aw, thanks! I'm not going to lie -- I am expecting years of people being impressed out of this. And actually, it's been about a day and a half of work, which isn't really that much in the greater scheme of things.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

This is for Allyson: [link]

I loved that. I was feeling pretty blue, there was a gathering of Beastie Boys fans in NY and AdRock showed, resulting in adorable: [link]

And then, BABY BAT YAWNS! Cutie cute cute.

I bought a grill yesterday, and stopped at the butcher shop. Got ridiculous amounts of fresh chicken and beef. I was not catcalled on the way, which is just silly because OMG I AM SO PRETTY.

Art Crawl!!!

In case any of you didn't see the Preakness.

I think that the race announcer may not have a voice today.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, when I learned to shoot at the Becoming an Outdoorswoman workshop, I handled a lot of handguns, and I liked how the Sig fit my hand best. The only issue is that my finger is a little too short to lie along the trigger guard properly. But since then, they came out with a narrower grip, which I think would solve the problem.

I think I would never own a firearm because of my suicidal tendencies. But I definitely enjoyed conquering my fear of them.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Men, down here, find me attractive? Really? I need to live around more Black people pronto.

Such a shame you didn't follow up on that impulse, because then you would be here.

Back when I was bike riding, I'd occasionally get something like, "You go, big mama," which is an interesting combination of insult and encouragement.

I hope everyone appreciates your work, Jesse.

I think I would never own a firearm because of my suicidal tendencies.

I own guns, but haven't done much with them without my ex. They would not be my choice for suicide, because I heard too many stories from cops about unsuccessful gun suicides.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I never got cat-called much, but it's definitely decreased since I went grey. Really, the only people in public who comment on me are women who like my hair.

But as Shrift said way upthread, I really do think that most men fail to understand the implicit threat of sexual violence that a lot of women associate with cat-calling. I was once walking alone on Mission Street in SF, pretty late at night, and it was pretty scary to have a guy come up to me on a bicycle and ride around me in circles for a block, trying to chat me up.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

In case any of you didn't see the Preakness.

Wow, that was thrilling. I'll Have Another is a lot of horse to run down Bodemeister like that.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, cause Bodemeister is a lot of horse! It was an amazing race, truly.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

the winning horse is a trip. He was clearly moving deliberately for the whole race, but it's like in the home stretch, he said "fuck it, I'm going to do this" and he did!
