We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I never got cat-called much, but it's definitely decreased since I went grey. Really, the only people in public who comment on me are women who like my hair.

But as Shrift said way upthread, I really do think that most men fail to understand the implicit threat of sexual violence that a lot of women associate with cat-calling. I was once walking alone on Mission Street in SF, pretty late at night, and it was pretty scary to have a guy come up to me on a bicycle and ride around me in circles for a block, trying to chat me up.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

In case any of you didn't see the Preakness.

Wow, that was thrilling. I'll Have Another is a lot of horse to run down Bodemeister like that.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, cause Bodemeister is a lot of horse! It was an amazing race, truly.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

the winning horse is a trip. He was clearly moving deliberately for the whole race, but it's like in the home stretch, he said "fuck it, I'm going to do this" and he did!

Art Crawl!!!

Yeah, his jockey is cool-headed. This will stand him in good stead at Belmont where people tend to make their move too soon.

Jesse, I hope that the party is amazing and I too am impressed with all of the work.

I give up. I don't want to own a house anymore. I fucking cash in my grown up card.

You could see the jockey still holding I'll Have Another in coming around the last turn. The horse's head was up, so he wasn't giving him free rein. And then, boom! And he laid on the whip a little bit too.

Both of those horses showed a lot of heart.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Owning a house or not has very little impact on overall grown-up-ness either way, I think.

That was a helluva race. Thanks for the link, sumi!

-t probably not. I'm just giving up on all of it.

And we'll move out in 5 weeks.
