I'm thinking about buying something very expensive. Maybe an antelope.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Super exciting! I might have cried a little. I do that when gorgeous horses do their thing.

Had a nice visit with Taylor and her boyfriend. I approve of how he engages me. T and I both were sharing our trip reports and he was just fascinated with both. Taylor's all "I think I need to go to Spain." Yes, honey, you do. I am going to insist she do a study abroad.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Went out to dinner, came home and made fucking jam tarts. Meh.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Okay, the egg whites left over from the failed ice cream are used up in a white spice pound cake. I love the Cake Bible, since it up front has a section that tells you which recipes take just egg whites, and which take extra yolks, etc.

Also quite readable.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I really like the Cake Bible, but almost never use it. I wonder if I should get rid of it, since we're in an offloading mode.

I took down two boxes of clothes from before I was pregnant. The super skinny clothes. Most of the skirts still fit (I've lost about 18 lbs in the past three months or so) but the tops and dresses? Oh hell no.

The dress I wore on my 34th birthday, which I still love, fits everywhere except the bust. I look like if I breath too deeply, I'll have nipple slippage.

I am still reeling from my bra size and the change in my bust for dresses and tops. Right now, it's all tshirts all the time. So depressing.

I'm pretty sure the jam tarts will not benefit from the extra shot of tequila my friend made me have after dinner. We'll see!

They'll be made with more glee?

I just googled the title of Taylor's project and I turn up that she was one of just 4 students from the City to make it to Finals in the Intel International Science Fair. Whoa.

They are fine. Whatever!

I haven't baked in forever, but I could totally visualise the four egg whites going totally to waste, so I took an early stand.

When I first bought the Cake Bible, I was working my way through it. I don't remember how far I got, but there are a bunch of notes tucked up in there from when I was a very different person.

I miss her sometimes.

Watching Friday Night Lights. I'm about halfway through the second season. It's good, but I don't know if I have the energy for all this. Hmmph.
