Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh dear, msbelle.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

msbelle, my sister is a receptionist and people talk shit about other employees in front of her like she doesn't even exist, which has put her in some unpleasant situations. This is in addition to the fact that she's chained to her desk and can't even pee unless she finds covereage, and only one person will cover for her because all the other admins are too import. It fucking blows my mind how admins are apparently not real people.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

On the plus side, it's also why you can store vodka in the freezer.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I think ice cream not setting due to alcohol is a "problem" we can deal with. I also think ice cream "cubes" in a alcoholic drink might be a brilliant idea.

can one of you send me NF at my conference next week? Kidnapping should be easy for us as a group, right?

hip deep in pie

Kidnapping should be easy for us as a group, right?

We could try asking nicely first.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That's the problem with booze in ice cream

Hence the gelatin. But what I added must be higher proof than the recipe was calculating for--some of the recipes call for a whole envelope. This only called for half. I don't know if it's possible to add the second half afterwards though.

Which would be a shame, because a waste of the effort required to make the custard.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Venn Diagram of Yoda It Is

love it

friday before a conference is annoying, also a level in admin hell.

Cody would agree with you heartily if he were awake, which he isn't, on account of he went back to work last night after dinner and was working one someone's conference slides until 2 am. oof!

Or which might be delicious as simply egg nog pudding.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Disappointing, ita. I hope the extra gelatin works out.

That hummingbird helmet is amazing! I think I would be scared by the pointy beak being so near my eyes, even knowing there is a shield.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

A client (who knows of my trip to the USS Alabama) sent me this link:

Historic battleship USS Iowa to become museum in Los Angeles

It's great it's going to be a museum ship. Also, I did not know this:

Historic groups in Northern California had sought to find a permanent home there for the ship, but they faced a number of setbacks. Among them was a vote in 2005 by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors to reject a resolution to move the Iowa to the city as a floating museum.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported at the time that some city supervisors had voted against the resolution out of opposition to the U.S. military's then-policy of "don't ask, don't tell," which barred gays and lesbians from openly serving in the armed forces.

Several members of the board who took part in the 2005 vote could not be reached for comment.

That's too bad; I'd prefer the Iowa was in the SF Bay area.
