This is a time of celebration, so sit still and be quiet.

Moon nukage is weird.

Happy Birthday Vortex! I'm kinda sad we are on opposite sides of the country, I remember several birthdays ago when we weren't and you had grand plans for celebrations.

Tom, in a totally "society is shitty but hey, take what privilege you get", guys are way more allowed to be roguish and attractive in their 40s or 50s than women are...

Fortunately, the Bob the Builder spinoff Ned the Nuker never was greenlighted.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Echoing what the others said, Tom. You are too awesome now to think your best years are behind you, and you will only get more awesome.

Happy Birthday Vortex!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Fortunately, the Bob the Builder spinoff Ned the Nuker never was greenlighted.

And an unemployed Ned the Nuker got into music and formed Ned's Atomic Dustbin.

Punishingly Intricate

Happy birthday, Vortex!!

The best years of your life are when you realize that you're pretty cool and decide to go live that way.

YUP!!!

All I know is that I've been way happier in my late 30s and 40s than I was for the majority of my 20s and early 30s.

hip deep in pie

You know how you're convinced you're this total dork, and then you go to intense analysis for eleven years, and then you finally start to believe you're not a dork, but then you realize that you're in late middle age, and the best years of your life have completely passed you by?

Tom, I totally understand that feeling because I have been feeling something similar. But, and it's hard not to put it in Oprah-style platitudes, I'm coming around to the idea that your age really is just a number and you're never too old and it's never too late.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Happy Vortex Day! What a fun holiday to celebrate - dress to show off one's cleavage, take no guff from anyone, and Stephtinis for everyone.

The low points of my my life were:

15, when I missed about half the school year due to physical and mental health issues.

18-30, when I was suffering from untreated depression.

Late 30s to mid 40s weren't great either. Then there's the Great Bedbug Fiasco of Aught Nine, which took me a few years to recover from psychologically.

Since being on ADs, there's been a floor of depression that I never sink below, but I've still had to deal with depression a lot--usually when whatever pills I'm taking wear off and I have to switch to something else. But I don't always recognize when I've reached that point. I can go years where I'm basically just existing where nothing much excites me.
