Honestly, I don't know. Probably fraud or something like that. Immigrants without status often have that used against them in DV situations. The law at the moment is very broad to protect them. These changes would put victims at risks in a number of ways by narrowing options and reducing confidentiality protections.

Mostly it matters because he hasn't evolved at all.
As has been pointed out, a lot of his appeal is for people who don't believe in evoluation.
I'm irritated with the people who are very vocal about being "Christian" but seem to get most of their biblical information from the Old Testament.
And there was a letter in this morning's paper from someone connected to the Catholic Council of Bishops about the wonderful work they're doing with young people. (facepalm)

I had to stop myself from getting into with a "Christian" on a friend's FB page who was claiming biblical basis for marriage equals one man one woman. ALso claiming the founding fathers were Christian. I hate ignorance and wrong almost as much a knowing bigotry.

I would just like to say for the record that part of my goals for this last trip was to talk to the movers and shakers in my particular denomination about the way Christians are being perceived in the mainstream world and to suggest some ways we can reconcile that. I was a little pleasantly surprised that although there was some pushback, it was mostly minimal. Admittedly, the conference was on dealing with "deep change," technological, societal, etc., so they were more openminded going in than a normal crowd would be. I intend to follow up with a few email messages to make sure the specifics of what I was saying are clear to the leadership. But. I'm trying.
