Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Oy, I need to go make myself some breakfast. I haven't eaten today. Plus only one cup of coffee, which is clearly not enough. But on the upside? Showered.

My plan for the day is to start taking care of all the errands/tasks that I've let accumulate over the past month or so. It's kind of an ugly list.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

For those playing along on the "What Will Scrappy Make In The Crockpot" Game, I decided to make this: [link] except I replaced the eggplant with cut up yam. Looks like it could be kinda deelish.

I have noted everyone's suggestions, though, and will be trying them out in te future. So, thanks lovely Hivemind.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

One of my students keeps emailing me begging for a higher grade. I've said no twice, and he emailed a third time.

So it's the 150th birthday of the Morrill Act, which gave states big parcels of land in the western US to sell and fund universities with.

Everyone who went to a state university should raise a glass to the Morrill Act. You know, if you want.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Things will probably get worse before they get better, and I couldn't have a better group of friends to get me through it.

Yup, and yup. We're here for the long haul, woman, so get used to us.

And Liese, that's a beautiful blanket, what a wonderful thing to do.

Didn't it turn out lovely? We have some really talented knitters here. And what you can't see in the pictures is that it's really soft, but still washable!

And I want to apologize too, because I know I didn't pull everybody in that I could or should have. I was just doing it haphazardly through lj/dw and I knew at the time people were getting left out that would want to participate, but I didn't know how to get to everybody. So if you didn't get a chance to play, I'm sorry, please know it wasn't intentional.

And Theo, hah, it took us what, six months? We were not exactly prompt. But I think it worked out to be done exactly when it was needed. So. Yes, we love you, Maria! It's tangible, and it's from all the b.org.

I had cramps during the night and woke up for extra Ibuprofen

Ooh, me too. Yay, cycles.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I've said no twice, and he emailed a third time.

Tell him his grade goes down a third of a letter grade with every succeeding email.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

After all the talk about the blanket, I read "I replaced the eggplant with cut up yam" as "I replaced the eggplant with cut-up yarn" ... which gave me pause.

Ha! I may not be a great cook, but I am EASILY able to distinguish edible from inedible items.
