Note trick with pasta assumes whole wheat pasta. if using ordinary pasta it cooks qucker, and can be added about 20 minuts before serving.

we have a crockpot chicken and dumplings sometimes. very comforting.
I like exotic recipes and that is definitely exotic to me. Maybe I'll try it some time.
Maybe we can stick a steam hose down your nose and blast everything loose but your fillings and your brain pan.
I have been eyeing the cordless drill.
My current favorite crockpot meal is the world's simplest. Put pork loin boneless roast in crockpot. Pour large jar of salsa verde over roast. Go to work. Hour before serving, shred pork with two forks. Serve over cilantro lime rice (rice, cooked with lime and cilantro. That's it, honest.) with some sour cream and shredded cheese, maybe a jar of refried beans. Burrito bowl deliciousness.
Crock pot carnitas are the best - I do basically the same as Liese, plus a few minutes crisping the pulled pork under the broiler while you prep the fixins.
Just about any Moroccan tagine recipe can be done in a crockpot, and couscous takes no time at all on the side.
The fanciest crock pot recipe I know is short ribs, red wine, chicken broth, star anise, five-spice, red curry paste, fresh ginger and garlic, a little soy and worcestershire sauce, orange zest. The ribs come out meltingly tender and caramelized. Goes brilliantly with a bitter green like broccoli rabe and some rice to soak up the sauce.
I'd skip the drill and go straight to the Drano. At least in my imagination.
Timelies all!
Argh, this week. Started with me losing my jacket Sunday. Monday, when we got home from dance practice the power was out. Didn't know when it would come back, so we used Gary's cell phone for an alarm.(Power came back on during the night) Yesterday we reset various alarm clocks and such. Unfortunately, Gary forgot to turn the alarm on. We ended up waking up 35 minutes late, which meant getting to work late, etc. Meh.

I'm cleaning out my drafting table for the first time in 10 years or so and in addition to a dozen or so dried up tubes of paint and drawings dating back to 1999, I found a sheet of paper with the following note (in my handwriting):
Title - Subject Unknown
only reference - character watching X-Files "Wetwired"
bleached blond poodle hair
too much makeup
cutoff tie-die t-shirt
baggy hip hop jeans
leather biker jacket
I honestly have no idea. A roommate and I used to try to mentally catalog some of the real life characters we seemed to meet when we were together, but this one doesn't match up with my memories. And I don't remember writing any of them down.
The other side of the page has notes on a show that I also don't remember.
