OMG- now MORE theatre drama! Only now I am being dramatic!
So every year the program director sends out an email to all the students and staff asking the students to respond to him with their interest in student positions. This is also how he announces the season.
This does not seem weird, but it makes me over-the-top angry because
a) This is also how he announces the season to the other professors and staff- like, we do not get a heads up about dates, plays, directors, anything before the mass email is sent out.
b) We have all already hired most of our students for next year but even though he knows this, and says he won't veto it, he sends it out blank, as though all positions are open, and the students we already have an agreement with need to reply to him.
c) THEN, instead of sending out an individual email to the students who are not selected (which few of them will be, because none of the positions are open) he just sends out another mass email in a week with all the positions and who is filling them.
and he totally does not understand why any of that bothers me. Also, he announced a director as hired who he asked me yesterday to meet with to make sure we could work together as mentors before he hired him.
crock pot -- chicken parts - onions, peepers, mushrooms cover with wine and tomato sauce ( spice like basil )
serve over spaghetti
chicken catchatori ( which I can not spell)
Other crockpot recipes.
sweet potato curry
sweet potatoes, boneless skinless chicken (so the result is not greasy) breast, thigh, or mixed, sweet potatoes or yams (chopped) chopped (not pearl) onions, chopped veggies of choice - mine for this is usually broccoli and sweet peppers, maybe a few chopped carrots. coconut milk, lime juice, honey, maybe a very little wine, curry powder, garlic, salt pepper. Frozen peppers and onions work well (defrost in microwave) If you want you can skip sweet potatoes skip salt add soy sauce, and add spaghetti or similar when you get home to turn it into a pseudo singapore noodle. Oh, almost forget. if you do use the sweet potatoes add cinammon
cooked sausage, sweet pepper, mushrooms, onion, tomatoes, garlic, basil, marjoram, thyme, black pepper, salt pepper, lemon juice, wine, olive oil, honey. canned drained Garbanzo beans (chickpeas) if you wish. (About 15 minutes before serving add mozzarella.) Serve over pasta. or add dry pasta about 45 minutes before serving to absorb liquid. Chicken and sausage mixed also good.
Note trick with pasta assumes whole wheat pasta. if using ordinary pasta it cooks qucker, and can be added about 20 minuts before serving.
we have a crockpot chicken and dumplings sometimes. very comforting.
I like exotic recipes and that is definitely exotic to me. Maybe I'll try it some time.
Maybe we can stick a steam hose down your nose and blast everything loose but your fillings and your brain pan.
I have been eyeing the cordless drill.
My current favorite crockpot meal is the world's simplest. Put pork loin boneless roast in crockpot. Pour large jar of salsa verde over roast. Go to work. Hour before serving, shred pork with two forks. Serve over cilantro lime rice (rice, cooked with lime and cilantro. That's it, honest.) with some sour cream and shredded cheese, maybe a jar of refried beans. Burrito bowl deliciousness.
Crock pot carnitas are the best - I do basically the same as Liese, plus a few minutes crisping the pulled pork under the broiler while you prep the fixins.
Just about any Moroccan tagine recipe can be done in a crockpot, and couscous takes no time at all on the side.
The fanciest crock pot recipe I know is short ribs, red wine, chicken broth, star anise, five-spice, red curry paste, fresh ginger and garlic, a little soy and worcestershire sauce, orange zest. The ribs come out meltingly tender and caramelized. Goes brilliantly with a bitter green like broccoli rabe and some rice to soak up the sauce.
