Ooh, Holli, I have to come see you. If you ever come across the hardbound orange Childhood of Famous Americans books from the '40s (they all have silhouette illustrations), let me know?
Natter 70: Hookers and Blow
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Hi, Holly! Good to see your font! I envy you your job. Especially today after a conference call with my clueless boss and my disgruntled weary co-workers. You're in Richmond, aren't you? I need to come see you! In fact, I need to sell you some stuff, if you're buying from private individuals.
Holli!
Are folks all planning on retiring at 65? If I retire then, I have 18 years to go.
If I went at reduced pension, I would be 56. 58 with a full pension. (But god knows what's going to happen to the pension plan in the ensuing years.) The good part is, that's about when my mortgage would be paid off...so I could do it. I really don't think I can stay in gov't for much longer though. Yet, it would be tempting to say, what the hell...that's why we call it a velvet prison.
There's more to life than financial stability, right???
Amy, I might have a couple of those, actually. Was there one called something like "Pocahontas: Brave Girl"? It's ringing a bell, but I have no idea where it is in the pile of boxes in my garage.
Zenkitty, I'm in DC. But if you have pretty vintage things I am always interested.

I always said so. But now that I have it, I'm terrified to give it up.

Clothes and dolls?
Dolls, probably not. (They creep me out a little.) But definitely clothes! I love mid-century in particular (40s, 50s, early 60s) but I'm always happy to find older stuff and I'm willing to be convinced about newer stuff if it's really fabulous.
(They creep me out a little.)
Shoot, that's why I'm getting rid of them.
The clothes I have are 60s era, I think. My sister has a trunk full of 1920s clothes we don't know what to do with.

I know what to do with them! I know!
What sort of condition are they in?
My boss is not nearly as competent as she thinks she is. She insists on being Kept In The Loop on everything, which results in everything being harder than it needs to be, because she inserts herself into every situation and complicates it by "helping facilitate".
MY BOSS TOO. Awesome.
