Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Free grilled cheese sandwich, yum!

Yes!

WTF to protesters missing the point....

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

... because social workers are the 1%???

The claim was that a woman lost custody because she was an Occupier.

Me, I suspect there was something more going on.

And even if she did, I don't think that justifies interfering with the legitimate service CPS provides.

Bullshit like this makes me lose a lot of sympathy, I gotta say.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

There was apparently a plan to Occupy Child & Protective Services. WTF.

Yeah, this is why I'm not sure I want the Occupy movement as the voice of my generation.

I want a free grilled cheese sandwich!

But I have lamb meatballs in the oven and a couscous salad (recipe courtesy Megan Walker!) on the counter, so I suppose I'll survive.

Punishingly Intricate

I wish I could find where I read about this, but apparently there's a pocket of people (must be tiny tiny people) in North Carolina who have the same accent as Shakespeare.

Also on some islands in the Chesapeake Bay. The populations were so sheltered for so long they held on to the accents their ancestors came over from England with back in the 1600s.

I am very proud of myself. I am basically packed for a trip to Chicago/Michigan and I'm not leaving until Thursday afternoon! I'm just not going to have a chance to pack tomorrow and I had time tonight so I did it. Just like a citizen!

You are an inspiration, Lisa.

brillig

How very odd. United Airlines reservation service just called my cell phone to tell me that flight 888 from Beijing to San Francisco for tomorrow will leave on schedule.

edit: I hope I'm not about to be embroiled in some spy thriller, I've got stuff to do.

I have also heard this about parts of Newfoundland.

I almost made it to the pool, but then realized I was wheezy and that it just wouldn't end well. I'm disappointed in myself, but also think it was probably a safe call to make, given a quick run to the bank left me shaky.

Meh.
