thanks for the re-welcome!
In other news, my sister (who used to post as RahRah) just called to let me know that she had to suck a popcorn kernel out of her (2 year old) son's nose. Ah, motherhood!

I am sure I say owt and abowt.
I wish you could hear my cousin Leone sometime...she's got the most ridiculous Newfoundland accent and a nasally voice. It's like the Newfoundlander version of the Nanny. It is IN-SANE.
I am one of those people who picks up on the accent of wherever I am or whoever I am with. I would be a total Gwyneth in moving to the England and picking up a fake accent in just a few weeks. (If I ever do, feel free to mock me.)
Hey there Ouise! I just walked by your place on the way home.

Just the phrase has me giggling.

My brother does it on purpose. He seems to think it's pretentious to talk with your own accent when visiting other countries. (While I feel that the exact opposite is obviously the case.) We were only in Australia for about half a day before he started saying "yih" instead of "yeah".

Hey yourself! I'm still at work (for another 7 minutes).
I wish you could hear my cousin Leone
*gasp* That's my first name! I've never met anyone else with that name! Not a girl, anyway. How does she pronounce it?

It's really awful, I think. She also has a braying laugh.

Lee-own. Rhymes with phone.
Her full name is actually Leona, but the only person I have ever heard call her that is her husband, when he's joking around.
My aunt is named Leone too, but I don't know if she's a Leona or not.
Lee-own. Rhymes with phone.
And that's how I pronounce it. Not a Leona, though. I am right now in the process of changing my name legally to make this my middle name and Elizabeth my first name. I got so tired of people mispronouncing and misspelling my name! Now it feels like a secret magic name that no one knows. Except now y'all do, but you'll keep the secret.
Hey, I just remembered a question I had for the hivemind! Tell me about these FitBit things. Do I want to get one, now that I am working a day job and am taking the bus and whatnot? I need to get moving around more.
ION, I left work early and am working from home, because email went out that the scheduled May 1st protests downtown were almost certainly going to screw up bus commutes from work.
Will run for bacon [link]
My mother had a cousin whose name was pronounced Lee-on, but I think it was spelled Lyon.
