Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Lindsay Lohan and Kim Kardashian were at the WH Correspondents dinner? Does that mean that US politics has officially reached the self-parody stage? Like no one is even trying to pretend that we are taking this shit seriously.

I would say we'd officially jumped the shark, but I think we hit that stage back when Palin was nominated for VP.

Mama Nubian is an early warrior in this arena. May her strength and skills guide you today.

Oo, that's a good mantra. I think you have a future as a demigod.

Art Crawl!!!

May is already better than April, i.e., my tax refund came in!

Now if only that disputed charge would go away.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Lindsay Lohan and Kim Kardashian were at the WH Correspondents dinner?

I didn't actually verify what I'm about to say, so take it with a grain of salt: Chatty!co-worker said that the correspondent/news people -- notably, FOX/rightwing news people -- brought Lohan and Kardashian as their guests, so that later on they can point out how Obama has turned the Correspondents' dinner into a farce.

This, entirely.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Also, how the hell do you walk so damn many steps every day?!?

Short answer: I'm a machine!

Long answer: I don't own a car, so getting to work and running errands involves my feets and public transportation. On average I jog down 30 flights of stairs every day. On work days, I get on the treadmill after work and walk at least a 5K while listening to podcasts. On the weekends, I walk in the park while listening to more podcasts.

(Still can't lose weight, though, which is totally an injustice.)

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

This is not what I needed to be doing this morning: fraking around with the blasted printers. The old HP is finally dead and the Lexmark is out of ink. Damn! I just need to print a Zappos return label! ONE STUPID THING.

Right. New ink for the Lexmark will cost almost as much as I'll get refunded from Zappos. Ridiculous. I'm having Zappos mail me a dang label, and I'm Craigslisting this stupid printer. SO THERE LEXMARK. Your wireless function never worked anyway!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

In the interest of giving msbelle more posts to read, I'm going to pat myself on the back for accomplishing a totally mundane goal. I have made an appointment to get my hair cut AND one for a regular doctor's appointment, neither of which I have done in a couple of years. Now I just need to keep the appointments and I will be well on my way to getting back my official grown-up card. Well, one step closer, anyway.

Behave, printer of Zenkitty! (Eta: Oops, too late!)

Good luck getting that disputed charge resolved quickly, sumi. How have you been feeling since you've been out of the hospital, btw? Okay, I hope.

sarameg, I so enjoyed touring Spain vicariously with you! Especially since my feet didn't hurt.

Speaking of which, I really really need to get in better shape before I go to England. My companions are younger and more energetic than I am, and they almost killed me already dragging me around Portland. I'll never survive England with them unless I lose some weight and get used to walking a lot again. Dammit, I used to be skinny and in reasonably good shape. I blame the desk job.
