Oh, at first it was confusing. Just the idea of computers was like — whoa! I'm eleven hundred years old! I had trouble adjusting to the idea of Lutherans.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Why can't I ever REMEMBER that when I start craving chocolate, durn it?

Chocolate is a shady lady with alluring wiles, and is made out of crack.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Dear Coworker, Why on earth are you just now getting that one thing ready to mail? We talked about wanting to send it on FRIDAY. The mailroom closes in 10 minutes. Not that it's impossible, but why not just get it ready early?

He makes me crazy. Only brings me things to review at 4:45.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Well, I have joined the digital age. Since the monthly cost of upgrading to a digital cable tier with OnDemand and a DVR is about a third of what it was the last time I checked (though the basic offer is still not FREE! like the mail voucher promised), I signed up and will attempt to connect the new converter box myself this week.

Adorable!

For those playing along at home, I ended up with the non-Trader Joe's brand of spanikopita because it was the one that didn't require a baking sheet.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I like that one better anyway. (FTR, I don't think I've ever used a baking sheet with the TJs brand. That said, I'm also the person who set the oven on fire a few weeks ago, so maybe don't trust my cooking "technique.")

I'm in Philly. Most inefficient security ever.

Also, think I'm getting a headcold. Unsurprising. May have to telcommute tomorrow. Looks bad but everyone is used to me getting sick after vacations so.... I have a huge assignment from this meeting with an initial show date in 2 weeks. I can't be sick...

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

My brain is tired of numbers.

For the record, finches look huge once hummingbirds are around.

Yesterday the SO & I had a date day. We drove out to this marvelous creekside trail along the Little Colorado. Seabiscuit loved it. On the way back, we passed this huge open ranchland...where a couple had set up a dining table complete with tablecloth and flowers and champagne. Just the two of them, having dinner alone at the corner of their massive ranch. Aww. Dunno if it was an anniversary or a "we just bought the ranch" celebration, but it was super romantic, and must have been gorgeous for them. All the cattle grazing the grassland, and then the mountains in the background.
