"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Dang, my lunch was good.

Sauteed TJ's frozen green beans (haricot vertes style) in olive oil and butter and minced garlic, adding some red bell pepper for contrasting color and texture, slivered almonds, diced ham, a little soy sauce for salty and a little balsamic vinegar for tang.

Mostly green stuff, salty tangy crunchy with protein! So good. I ate a whole panful. I make this pretty often without the ham, but sometimes the ham and the green beans want to be together.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

They are more impressive than I thought they'd be....

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

That sounds dee-lish, Hec! I am on week two of fruits during the day and a small meal with veggies and protein at night. I have lost 7 lbs and I know most of that is water weight, but one or two are legitimate. I also just plain feel better, I have to say. Why can't I ever REMEMBER that when I start craving chocolate, durn it?

Chocolate is a shady lady with alluring wiles, and is made out of crack.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Dear Coworker, Why on earth are you just now getting that one thing ready to mail? We talked about wanting to send it on FRIDAY. The mailroom closes in 10 minutes. Not that it's impossible, but why not just get it ready early?

He makes me crazy. Only brings me things to review at 4:45.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Well, I have joined the digital age. Since the monthly cost of upgrading to a digital cable tier with OnDemand and a DVR is about a third of what it was the last time I checked (though the basic offer is still not FREE! like the mail voucher promised), I signed up and will attempt to connect the new converter box myself this week.

Adorable!

For those playing along at home, I ended up with the non-Trader Joe's brand of spanikopita because it was the one that didn't require a baking sheet.
