brillig

Our housemate's cat is named Happy, but Hubby calls him Bucket because he's white, ie white = pale = pail = bucket. Also as in he got run over and now he's blind, so he used up a couple of lives, as in nearly kicked the.

Hubby likes puns.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Bailey Miranda

Love!

And you can sing "His name is Kato / Kato Potato" to the tune of "Copacabana."

Also love! I'm having zucchini frittata for breakfast tomorrow (it's defrosting in the fridge) and I always end up sing that to Hakuna Matata for days.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I know I have said this before, but I really need a Zola filter for Grey's Anatomy. It is beyond my powers to suspend disbelief to believe that Derek is such a brilliant neurosurgeon that Zola is now experiencing none of the problems that most children with Spina Bifida would have, despite the fact that she went without her much needed surgery for so long.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Bailey! Sadie!

(I do kind of doubt that he personally gave the order, but it is too typical that he had penny-pinchers on his staff in positions of power that did it without even thinking about it... and you know, somebody who actually cared about "the help" might have mentioned to those penny-pinchers that he wanted his staffers to get home safe.)

This is exactly it. I don't think he thinks about the little people (most of us) enough to warrant any deliberate or conscious malice. But that utter indifference to human impact is its own maliciousness.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I bumped into this tumblr [link] because of an entry rebuffing their logic in thinking a secondary school student's 2 sample experiment about watering a plant with microwaved water vs. purified water proved things like microwaving messes up DNA, etc [link] . So I went to see the rest of their entries. There is not much bogus science in it--moreso it's many arguments about how voting is condoning the evils of government, etc.

But what I don't understand--what is the alternative? If this system is the wrong system, isn't the logical thing to do to change the system? I don't see those entries on their tumblr. I'm totally confused...

NOT REALLY.

Did Aaron Sorkin write tonight's Scandal? Lots of walking and talking and fast dialogue.

Does anyone know anything about Shakalewa that can't be gained in watching the first 15 videos of the google search, or by reading the FB or twitter feed? For all that, they remain opaque.
