Connie - direct mailers like are successful. The knick knack cost pennies. and since it was from an organization you do not have ties with, it was a blind mailer, which is worth them spending the extra pennies on in order to potentially bring in a new donor. New donors are gold and donors cost less money to retain that to initially get.

I just drove CJ and another Search & Rescue kid to a HUGE fire. A retail space behind Whole Foods (rumored to be an incoming H&M) had its insulation catch fire. The smoke had just turned to white when I dropped the boys off.
I'm now ensconced at a Pete's, trying to stay in the area while they do their thing. I'm always jealous of the nommy holiday coffee drinks since I don't drink coffee anymore. But they have pumpkin chai and it is NOM. The gal was also selling me on some Solstice Tea, which is an Earl Grey variant - may need to buy some to have at home. It smells SO good.
