"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Does that mean she's definitely not going to make another run in 2016? I'd think that Secretary of State would be the best position from which to launch a campaign other than governor of a highly populous state.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I had heard she was stepping down in order to have time to run her campaign. Both are full time jobs.

Yeah I just a quick google search and it seems clear she is stepping down.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Interesting.

Brown must want to be senator really badly. I hope the Dems have a good person in waiting.

Oh, last night Scott Brown said something about defeat being temporary -- word on the street in my office is that John Kerry is going to be the next Secretary of State, and Brown can run in that special election.

There is also a possibility he could run for governor in two years.

Does Obama not WANT to have a DEmocratic majority in the Senate? There must be plenty of qualified people for SecState who are not sitting Senators. Hell Jimmy CArter would be great, but probably way too far left for Obama.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't understand. When Victoria Jackson says:

"I just went to a briefing in Washington, D.C., across the street from the Capitol, at the Longworth building at 8:30 a.m. two days ago and it changed my life. For six hours, I saw pictures and names and dates and facts and Islamic law books and Qurans, Surahs for six hours and they proved to me ... that the Muslim Brotherhood has infiltrated our highest positions in government and this is serious.”

Is she lying? Delusional? Being punked? Because my brain cannot wrap itself around much she said on the topic, but this is taking the cake.

also too old.

Yeah, I don't want Kerry. I say look at people who just lost their elections, or someone like Wesley Clark.

Typo Boy, I think the rumors of John Kerry have mainly come from the fact that Kerry and Obama apparently worked well together during the debate prep, in which Kerry played the Romney role in mock debates. At least that is what I heard.
