Speaking of SyFy, isn't the Firefly marathon coming up soon? And the reunion special?

You know, I was listening to This American Life, and there was a segment with a Republican and Democrat sister, and helping them to get along. So the mediators asked why the republican sister was so shocked that her sister was a democrat, and she said it was because liberals are selfish, and her sister would give people the shirt off of her back. So she was asked why she felt liberals were selfish, and she said it was because they didn't want to help anyone, they wanted someone else (the government) to do it.

And I wondered at how she just completely misreads liberals, and sometimes I wonder if I am seriously misreading conservatives.

If there's one thing Mongolians are proud of, it's their death worms.

Also, it looks like, amoung people who make buttons on the internet, Obama is winning. Although I think some of the Romney ones are a joke.

I know I'm going to regret asking this, but why?

I was standing at my polling place -- we are in the richyrich district, but our house is in the not-rich but average hood-- and every damn person there was white. A black man walked in finally and I wanted to kiss him.

I am going to work and cut myself off (mostly) from watching election stuff, and then go to my friend's house this evening, and we are going to give ourselves mani/pedis and obsess over results. D isn't a big TV result watcher, but I LOOOOVE it. (I cried for like fifteen minutes when McCain conceded: HAPPY TEARS!)

Well, yes. Plenty of conservatives are generous and hard-working people who think that the poor should be looked-after. They give to charity and volunteer, and foster abandoned dogs and teach kids to read. And their difference is that they disagree with you on gay marriage (because they're obedient to their religious authorities and don't know they know any gay people), or on foreign policy (because they've allowed themselves to be convinced that all of Islam is a menace), or on fiscal policy (because they honestly believe that their hard-earned pay will be dissipated under a liberal administration, and they want to choose how to distribute it).

Those, by themselves, are not sufficient differences to cause this huge divide.

Voter intimidation. In the video, Fox says the Black Panther is in a semi-military stance or something.
