It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Tom, you work for the govt, right? Why did you potentially have it off? If so, you do get Monday off, at least.

On the GMO ballot measure: I am philosophically opposed to legislation-by-initiative, the way it is practiced in California. It's an abdication of the legislature's responsibility, passing the burden of investigation and research to the general public. The GMO question is not as bad as some I have seen in the past, like complicated questions about penal policy and whatnot, but it just burns me that this is what the state has been reduced to.

So I voted no on the GMO question, but I admit I voted Yes on stopping the death penalty, and yes on the redistricting.

California voters: please vote yes on redistricting. It is the way we validate the non-partisan sensible redistricting plan prepared by an independent committee, and if we don't approve it, we will end up back in Gerrymander land.

Our wings are not tired.

Also, bring:

Snerk, also True.

OK, now I don't have tomorrow off any more.

Well that didn't last long.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

NYC employees typically get Election Day off, but they needed extra coverage because of Sandy, so I volunteered to come in. I'll get some comp time for it, eventually.

Yay for comp time!

I have never gotten election day off, but then, I absentee voted mostly, even before moving to Seattle and everyone voting by mail. My roommate took my ballot to drop off in the official box along with hers, today (she works downtown). Save me a stamp. But I'm kinda jealous of people who get to vote in person, it's so much more fun!

Tommyrot, that is a very thorough survival list.

Also: How many people get Veteran's Day off? Roomie was like "Well, almost everyone does!" and I was like "Uh, no. The feds and some people in DC because the feds do, but mostly NOT" Anyone?

I get Veteran's Day off, which kind of softens the blow of having to come in tomorrow.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Do not get it off. The Labor Day to Thanksgiving stretch is almost as bad as New Year's to Good Friday.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

We can take off as much time as we want to vote tomorrow, but apparently only two hours are paid. Not sure what that means to salaried workers.

I am, for the record, still in hospital, and dealing with much bullshit. They're coming in to give me repeated small doses of dilaudid, and when I ask them why they think the 7th small dose will do something the 6th didn't, the nurse shifts her weight from foot to foot and says she's really sorry about my pain, and do I want to be rubbed with homeopathic lavender oil? The simplest, politest true thing to tell her is that I don't do fragrances because of triggers, and she says "of course it only works if you're open to it" Yeah. That's what's at hand here.

DO ANY DOCTORS WORK HERE?

Jesus, Mary & Joseph, ita, this is ridiculous. I do not comprehend how you can be going to the same hospital week after week, and every fucking time it's as though you've never been there before! By now they should have your pain doc or your neuro on speed dial!

I hate these people on your behalf.
