Haircut and grocery shopping accomplished! I needed flour and sugar, which were both on sale, but only in 5lb. bags. So I really had too much stuff to carry, to the extent that when I was trying to open the front door of my building, a guy walking by asked if I needed any help! Which is nice, but no.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
It must be haircut day! I am sitting in the hair salon with goop in my hair.
So, am I correct that my (US) Android phone will not work at all in the UK?
My friend Katie says we can take our old cell phones that didn't use SIM cards, purchase SIM cards there, put them in the phones, and buy like a month of service. Is that right?
If your current phone doesn't have a SIM card, I don't know how/where you'd put one in. My T-Mobile phone has one (although I'm not sure how to get at it in my current phone, I realize).
ION, remember when I was looking for a coffee table a million years ago? Maybe this is the one! [link] I can't decide if I super-love the style, though.
If it doesn't use SIM cards, where would you put the SIM card? Something is off there.
I also participated in haircut day.
Tom participated in haircut day too.
Zen, when we were in the UK last year, I used my cell phone there, a lot. Calls, texting, accessing email and other web stuff. You just gotta call your provider and get an international plan for the time you're there. I got an international data plan as well. It worked out great. No need to worry about swapping phones or Sim cards or the like, just get yourself an international plan.
Zenkitty, I had an Android when I went to the UK, and I called my provider who said it was not compatible. The newer versions may be different.
So apparently there's an election next week. It's weird that I haven't heard anything about it. Anyway, I'm voting for Obama for president because alphabetically he comes before Romney.
Am in line for early voting. They're saying a two hour wait.
tommyrot, I've seen some of those lines on TV. I've never seen lines like that for voting, even on election day.
