but if you were running a nail blog and were taking a pic of them, wouldn't you get a q-tip and some polish remover to clean them up?

New York Marathon was canceled.
Did ING call it?
I am really glad. It is not right when they are still finding bodies and need cops to be guarding gas stations.
OH wow. They were getting a lot of flack for saying it was on, but damn. Especially since I'm sure there are people who thought "well, it's on, so I might as well go..." when they could've otherwise canceled their plane tickets or something. Eesh. Should've called it earlier. Roomie was saying it's a hella expensive marathon to register for, and they were saying people could defer to next year but would have to pay again!
That is the worst paint job to put up on a nailpolish blog and her fingers look dry as hell also.
You found my polish blog! Just kidding, but ISTG that what mine would look like. Which is why I don't have a blog. (But I do clean up my nails before I get out of the house...)
New York Marathon was canceled.
Oh wow.
Someone in my neighborhood has a wireless network named "I can haz internets". Surprisingly, it's not me.

Yeah. The internet is the great leveler, I guess.
There were valid arguments on both sides of the marathon, but my emotional response was that it should be canceled. It is hard to buy that the city resources wouldn't have been diverted from recovery efforts. The whole thing could have been handled a lot better, whether they canceled or went ahead. Now both sides are angry.

A bunch of them won't have anywhere to stay, too -- most of the hotels in Staten Island, which is where the marathoners frequently stay, are saying that they're full of locals whose homes are flooded or otherwise not liveable, and that they're not going to honor reservations from marathoners if it means kicking out locals. Which is the right decision, but still means there are a whole bunch of people who are coming into the city and have no place to stay.
I don't have a blog, but I try to clean up my polish slop over before I post a pic of my manicure to facebook. The skin on the hands makes me think the blogger is elderly. It has that paper quality that older skin gets.
Last night I was changing polish and K-Bug's new boyfriend was curious and seemed to like the design I eventually ended up with (took a few tries). I've never had a guy be that interested. I have to make a Costco run and he is giddy about going with me (the Costco part, not the with me part).
Rachel Maddow blogged that many marathoners are donating their room reservations (assuming pre-paid) to locals who lost their homes. Agreed that it should have been cancelled earlier.
