Now tagless for your comfort.

Disney owns Marvel (and the Avengers films). Joss directed The Avengers. Disney now owns Star Wars.

Mmmmmm....

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

People have been speculating that the “Untitled Pixar Day of the Dead Film” might actually be Grim Fandango.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Really? That would be cool.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

How is it a passable business model to run a web company and not have failover of some useful extent? I can't (except I can) believe the Gawker network. Who else is dark because of Sandy?

It seems *fairly* clear they don't have good QA/UAT (errors always get through--I understand that--but when it's really basic use cases like reading and, uh, posting-HAVE YOU EVEN USED YOUR SITE???) and they certainly prefer their SEO to their usability guy, but this outage is kinda embarassing.

Read: ita ! would get her ass handed to on a plate if any of her apps were down so long, and any directors involved would be fired unless the rest of their record was stellar (I think it was downtime that precipitated the booting of my former boss--perfect last straw).

So weird--someone on a con call with me broke up with laughter while someone else was talking, and I had no idea why. She managed to blurt out "Sorry! I had to laugh when you said that!" Not the remotest idea, even if it was me or the vendor she was laughing at, but luckily she sent me an email...containing the copypasta definition of "swimmingly" which is apparently so hysterical it sends grown women into fits.

It surprised me when I read about Gawker, too. It’s becoming more clear that Nick Denton just doesn’t know what the fuck he’s doing

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

People have been speculating that the “Untitled Pixar Day of the Dead Film” might actually be Grim Fandango.

Drool! I would love that so much.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Wow, we just had a thunderstorm that freaked the cat out more than anything from yesterday.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Damnit - I offered to carpool with other Brooklynite co-workers, and both of the people who responded live way out in Bushwick! That's not the part of Brooklyn I meant! t /South Brooklyn snob
